Britney Spears has certainly been through enough scandal recently to last a lifetime. However, after her much publicized travails, including what appeared to be a breakdown, custody battles, and a stint in rehab, Britney Spears seemed to be getting her act together lately. She's been busy lately recording the "Womanizer" video for her new album and appeared to be staying out of trouble (for the time being).
But Britney Spears can never seem to avoid negative attention for very long. It seems that a Britney Spears sex tape has surfaced again. This time, ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib is said to be in possession of a Britney Spears sex tape. A while ago, there was Britney Spears sex tape controversy involving another mystery lover, as well as ex-husband Kevin Federline.
A few days ago, Ghalib was looking for a buyer for his Britney Spears sex tape, holding out for a "locked in deal." Today, Ghalib is denying he was ever in possession of a Britney Spears sex tape, claiming to be sorry that any speculation about the sex tape could have hurt his family.
I'm not a fan of Britney Spears and I don't follow her career, but the whole Britney Spears sex tape scandal has made me wonder why we place so much value and importance on Spears and her every move. And how could she, as a mother and a role model for young fans, be so careless as to be involved in not one, but several, Britney Spears sex tape scandals?
I wonder if the whole Britney Spears sex tape scandal (or hoax) wasn't secretly dreamed up to throw the spotlight on Britney as she promotes this new album and tries for a comeback tour. After all, news of a Britney Spears sex tape is just scandalous enough to drum up interest in her again (the existence of a sex tape certainly boosted the popularity of other stars like Pamela Anderson and Paris Hilton.) Then when the tape never surfaces, and she seems like an innocent victim of an insensitive ex boyfriend, perhaps this might create some public sympathy for her.
