Britney Spears ‘Sets The Record Straight’ In Documentary Airing November 30 On MTV.
In the special, Britney reflects on hardships of the past few years: ‘What the hell was I thinking?’
Possibly more than anyone on Earth, Britney Spears’ life is constantly documented by the media, which voraciously reports on the singer’s every step and misstep. But what’s it like to be in her shoes?
With her new album, Circus, set for release in just a few weeks, the singer is ready to show the world her side of the story.
Britney has joined forces with MTV for a 90-minute documentary about her return to the pop-music spotlight. Tentatively titled “For the Record,” the special is set to air on November 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV, two days before Circus is released on December 2 (the singer’s 27th birthday).
“So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there’s a lot that people don’t know about me that I want them to know,” Spears told MTV News in a statement about the special. “I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn’t being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I’ve been through and where I’m headed.”
The documentary combines personal stories with behind-the-scenes footage of her comeback. Cameras follow her to the recording studio, to rehearsals, to press tours, to the video shoot for her latest single, “Womanizer,” and even to her hometown in Louisiana. Backstage footage from her recent triumphant appearance at the Video Music Awards is also featured.
Through it all, we hear Britney talking about the hardships that led up to this comeback. “I’ve been through a lot, and there’s a lot people don’t know,” she says in the film. “Sometimes it can get lonely ’cause you don’t open the gate. I’m stuck in this place, and I just cope every day.”
Britney also owns up to the mistakes the world has watched her make, and offers some telling insight into how she feels about it all now. “I sit there and I look back,” she says, before asking rhetorically: “I’m a smart person, what the hell was I thinking?”
“For the Record” airs Sunday, November 30 at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.

Britney Spears Children To Start Acting

K-Fed says the sooner, the better...
Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline wants to get their sons, Preston and Jayden, who turn two and three this month, into acting. This is said to have made Britney livid as she feels the boys are already subject to too much exposure. K-Fed has a laid back approach to it, and thinks that if they're happy and having fun with it, there's no harm.
Britney, who's been performing since she was 8 years old, "blew up when Kevin asked her about letting the kids act," says a source. "She has said she would support them if they wanted to pursue a career in Hollywood - but when they're old enough to actually know if they want to be in the industry. She wants them to have a normal childhood and feels like they are in the limelight quite enough as it is."
Despite her opposition, Kevin has quietly taken the boys to audition for TV and film projects around L.A. He "thinks it can be a good outlet for them," explains the source, because "Preston and Jayden are always singing and dancing around the house. They're total clowns, even at their toddler playgroup, My Gym. Kevin feels it's okay as long as they are watched over carefully and not pushed into it." And right now, the kids are having a blast. Adds the source, "Kevin hopes Britney will come around when she realized how much fun they're having."
Britney Court Hearing Delayed

If you recall, Britney Spears got in some driver’s license trouble a year ago and has been waiting for a court ruling since then. However, Judge James Steele decided that Britney is going to wait some more pushing the hearing originally scheduled for today - back to September 16th. By that date the judge should arrive at a decision whether she is heading to trial, going to pay a fine or going to be dismissed.
For those of you with short memory, Britney got in trouble because she never bothered to get a California driver’s license while she’s been living there for years. This is, apparently, very illegal and sometime along her downfall late last year one smart cop suddenly noticed that.

Latest Britney Spears News
Tina Robinson claims Aldridge, the father of the 16-year-old's unborn child, proposed to Jamie Lynn "a few days ago".
Reports the Zoey 101 star and Aldridge, 18, are engaged to be married surfaced earlier this week when Jamie Lynn was spotted showing off a diamond ring to friends and family in her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, and to relatives in Mississippi.
Robinson tells UsMagazine.com, "He proposed a few days ago, and she accepted.
"They probably weren't expecting (the proposal) to be, like, right now, but, with her being pregnant, that really pushed it up."
Britney Spoiled Chambers' Hospital Stay
The actor checked himself into UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles for a break just days before Spears was admitted into the same hospital in a media frenzy.
And Chambers insists only his family and close friends would have known about his health issues if the hospital hadn't become a hotspot for reporters and the paparazzi.
The 37-year-old tells the new issue of Life & Style magazine, "I only got attention because Britney came. Otherwise, it would've been private."

Britney Spears News:
Mother pulled in about 10.6 million viewers, a huge spike from its season-to-date average of 7.8 million, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Critics were relatively impressed.
In the New York Post, Linda Stasi wrote: "You'd never know that pop tart Britney Spears had ever had a bad day in her life.
"Now clean and sober and under her dad's thumb once again, Britney looked as adorable last night as she did waaay back when.
"On the show, which she filmed in the last few weeks, Brit looked slim, (OK she was behind a desk), trim and gorgeous.
"And, more importantly, her acting was nothing short of adorably believable.Mother was the fourth-highest-rated show of the evening, and CBS won the night (averaging 12.5 million viewers), even as the rest of its comedy lineup dropped slightly from last week's record-setting return to original episodes.
Spears, 26, played love-struck receptionist Abby in a tattoo-removal clinic who falls for the main character, Ted. Spears spent two days filming the scenes. She last made a TV appearance with a guest role in the sitcom Will & Grace in 2006. She said in a statement issued two weeks ago, while shooting her scenes, that she was having "a blast."
How I Met Your Mother, narrated through flashbacks from the future, stars Josh Radnor as a man who is joined in his quest for true love by his lecherous pal, played by Neil Patrick Harris.
Producers said there were "no diva moments" and Josh Radnor, who plays Ted, told USA Today the cast tried to provide "a nice safe place" for Spears.
"It's a cute, funny role, and she ended up being great in it," he said.
"She's actually very vulnerable and sweet."
He went on: "We both screwed up our lines (during taping) and made fun of ourselves.
"She definitely has comedic instincts. She made funny line readings (during script read-throughs). That's the sign of a good comedic actor."
However, it had been claimed her co-stars struggled to work with her because she refused to take off her sunglasses until the cameras started rolling.
A show insider told the National Enquirer magazine: "Britney delivered her lines, but the show's actors had a tough time reading her expressions since they couldn't see her eyes at all.
"It's hard for an actor to make a connection when all he sees is his own reflection staring back at him in shiny dark glasses, but no one wanted to upset Britney by asking her to take them off.
"In the end, someone said to her, 'You will be taking the sunglasses off for the actual tapings, right?' To which Britney responded, 'Uh ... yeah!'"
How I Met Your Mother is shown on the Seven Network in Australia.
Meanwhile, Spears's life remains in the hands of her father Jamie, after a claim challenging his conservatorship was rejected yesterday.
Jon Eardley - who claims the troubled singer hired him to challenge Jamie's control of her estate and daily life because it violates her civil rights - filed a claim in the Los Angeles Court of Appeals, but the judge rejected it without even seeking a response from Jamie and co-conservator Andrew Wallet.
While Spears's team have always denied the 26-year-old asked Eardley to represent her, the lawyer has now produced a transcript of a phone conversation they had before Jamie was made responsible for his daughter.
In the call, Spears - who set up the call through a paparazzo friend and speaks in an English accent throughout the conversation - can be heard saying: "Basically I want my life back. I want to drive my car. I want to live in my house alone. I want to pick my own security, see who I want to see and make it happen."

Spears 'Having a Blast' on CBS' 'Mother'
Mar 13, 2008
NEW YORK (AP) — Britney Spears is relishing her new role on "How I Met Your Mother." Spears has been taping her much-hyped cameo on the CBS sitcom for the March 24 episode, in which she portrays a receptionist in a dermatologist's office named Abby who crushes on Ted (Josh Radnor).
"Working at `How I Met Your Mother' has been so terrific," Spears said in a statement Thursday. "Everyone, including the cast, the crew and the producers, has been wonderful and Abby is such a fun girl to play. I'm having a blast!"
CBS spokesman Kelli Raftery said Spears attended a table reading with the cast on Monday, did a "run-through" on Tuesday and filmed scenes Wednesday. Raftery confirmed reports that Spears' divorced parents — James and Lynne — dropped by the "Mother" set on Wednesday.
Spears was scheduled to shoot scenes Thursday.
Radnor told People.com that "on the first day of the shoot, Britney knew her lines better than I knew mine. She's been great to work with."
Spears has previous TV sitcom experience playing a character on a 2006 episode of "Will and Grace." She was also the host and musical guest on "Saturday Night Live" in 2000.
"How I Met Your Mother," returning Monday with all-new episodes following the writers strike, co-stars Radnor, Jason Segal, Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders and Neil Patrick Harris as twentysomethings living in New York City.
Spears has been under the conservatorship of her father, James, following bizarre behavior and two hospitalizations. She is also locked in a custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline over the former couple's sons, Jayden James, 1, and Sean Preston, 2.
CBS is owned by CBS Corp.

Spears manager "broke court plea"
Britney Spears is also embroiled in a custody fight over her two sonsBritney Spears' father tried to fire her business manager after he provided her with a car in violation of a court order, legal documents have shown.
Papers filed in a Los Angeles court state Howard Grossman had been asked to deliver a car to James Spears, who has temporary control of the star's estate.
But the 26-year-old was seen driving around Los Angeles shortly after being released from a psychiatric ward.
Mr Grossman has refused to confirm or deny whether he has been sacked.
It is also alleged he violated court orders by arranging meetings for Ms Spears and her lawyer against her parents' wishes.

Mr Spears has legal control of his daughter's affairs until Thursday.
"The temporary co-conservators have lost all confidence in their ability to work with Mr Grossman," Mr Spears wrote in papers submitted to the court.
Restraining order
Court Commissioner Reva Goetz gave Spears' parents the right to fire Mr Grossman after a private hearing last week.
James Spears' lawyer, Jeryll Cohen, said Mr Grossman claimed he delivered the car to the singer because she had requested it.
"He wanted to comply with her request because he wanted to 'build her confidence in him'," Mr Cohen said.
The legal papers also claim Mr Grossman refused to hand over e-mails from Sam Lutfi, Ms Spears' friend and sometime manager.
A restraining order has been put in place to prevent Mr Lutfi from contacting the singer, after her mother Lynne accused him of drugging her daughter and cutting off her phone lines.
Earlier this month her parents released a statement stating they were "concerned" about her health after she was released from hospital against the recommendation of her psychiatrist.Sphere: Related Content
