Britney Court Hearing Delayed
If you recall, Britney Spears got in some driver’s license trouble a year ago and has been waiting for a court ruling since then. However, Judge James Steele decided that Britney is going to wait some more pushing the hearing originally scheduled for today - back to September 16th. By that date the judge should arrive at a decision whether she is heading to trial, going to pay a fine or going to be dismissed.
For those of you with short memory, Britney got in trouble because she never bothered to get a California driver’s license while she’s been living there for years. This is, apparently, very illegal and sometime along her downfall late last year one smart cop suddenly noticed that.

LA courts Scott Gordon has ruled Britneys' actions led to many delays in the proceedings, according to the AP.
Kevins attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, asked at one point for nearly $500,000 to cover the fees
The singers' attorney, Stacy Phillips, said that Mr. Kaplan was over-charging.
The two were divorced this past July after being married for three years.
Kevin was won primary custody of the kids, two-year-old Sean Preston and Jayden James, aged one, this past October.
In the mean time a judge extended a restraining order against Sam Lutfi, Britneys' "former manager," for one month.
The pop stars' Dad, Jamie, currently controls the 26-year-old singer's personal and business affairs.
In Feb., an LA judge ordered Sam not go within 250 yards of Miss Spears.
Brits' mom Lynne has sayed that Mr Lutfi had drugged her Britney, cut her phone off and taken control of her money.

Britney Spears News: Britney Visits With Her Two Boys
A spokesman for Britney' ex-husband Kevin Federline, said she spent around three hours with one-year-old Jayden and two-year-old Sean on Saturday, he declined to disclose where they met or who if anyone was there with them.
Miss Spears had visited with the boys since January 3, when she would not return the children afterone of her visitation's. The LA Police were called to her home, during the incedent that ended with Spears in a hospital.
Kevin Federline's attorney said this past Friday, that he had agreed to give her visitation rights.
People magazine had reported that Britneys' psychiatrist was there during the visitation.
The visit came a day after Kevin Federline's attorney Mark Kaplan said that the two "agreed to a modification of the court's order" that had stripped the singer, of her visitation rights.
In earlier news Britney spears mother and father came to LA about the second time she as admited to the hospital, about one month after Miss Spears first incident, and have pushed to for visitation rights to help their the young singer recover.
A Los Angeles court commissioner gave Kevin Federline sole physical and legal custody of the two boys and took Spears' visitation rights away on January 4 2008.
Briney had acted out in some bizarre public acts before her hospital visits. Since divorcing Kevin Federline in November 2006 she went bald, was seen in public without underwear, ran over a photographer's foot with her automoble, and attacked a car with an umbrella.

A Judge Has Asked Why Spears' Case Should Be In Federal Court
A Judge wants an attorney who says he represents Britney, to tell him why her conservatorship case should be heard in federal court.Judge Philip Gutierrez ordered attorney Jon Eardley on Tuesday to explain by Feb. 29 why the federal court should intervene in a probate case.
The order came after attorneys for Britneys' dad, James Spears, who was named her temporary conservator Feb. 1, states in a motion that the conservatorship should stay in state court.
They say a Court commissioner had previously said the Miss Spears did not have the mental capacity to retain her own counsel, and conservatorship matters do not come under federal jurisdiction.
Eardley filed papers Feb. 14 to move Britneys' probate case to federal court, saying the terms of the conservatorship violate her civil rights.
A message was left at Jon Eardley's office Wednesday but was not returned.
Conservatorships are created when a court decides a person cannot take care of themselves or their affairs.
Britneys' Dad and attorney Andrew Wallet were named co-conservators of the singers estate.
Attorney Jeffrey Wexler also asked the judge to require Eardley to pay Miss Spears fathers attorney fees and extra expenses caused by the removing the case to federal court, and to show all of the names of anyone he involved in the case.

Britney's Media Gag Bid Refused
Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon has rejected miss Spears request, after Anne Kiley argued that all of the media coverage was "not only emotionally, but physically" dangerous to Britney.
Kevin Federline's attorney, Mark Kaplan, argued the absence of a gag order did not put the children in danger, and that Britney was more worried about the paparazzi that followed her.
Mr Kaplan also said that the paparazzi following her was happening before she filed for divorce in November 2006.
Britney and Mr Federline were not present at the hearing.
Miss Spears hasn't been allowed to visit with her sons Jayden, one, and Sean, two, since an incident that led one of her two visits to hospital psychiatric wards earlier this year, and a decision by another court to place her Dad James in control of her affairs.
Outside of the court, Mr Kaplan said Kevin would like the Britney to see her kids.
"Both sides desire to see a time that visitation can resume. It's just a matter of working out the details so it can happen," he said. "Kevin looks forward to his kids having their mom with them."
The gag order request was argued in open court before other items were heard behind closed doors.
Ms Kiley had said she wanted a "narrowly tailored" order that would restrict lawyers only from talking to the media.

Britney May Miss Hearing
Jamie Spears, the singer's father and coconservator; Andrew Wallet, an attorney and fellow coconservator; Anne Kiley, Spears' current attorney in the custody case; Stacy Phillips, Spears' custody attorney-in-waiting; Mark Vincent Kaplan, Kevin Federline's attorney; and, of course, the ringmaster himself, Los Angeles County Superior Court Commissioner Scott M. Britney's Gag Order Denied
LOS ANGELES — A Superior Court commissioner denied a request Tuesday by Britney Spears' divorce attorney to issue a gag order in the pop star's child-custody dispute with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Attorney Anne Kiley argued that media coverage was "emotionally and physically" dangerous to Spears.
Kiley said the court should prohibit attorneys from discussing the case with the media and not publish dates and times of hearings and dispositions.

Sam Helping Britney Fight Back
According to E! News Online Sam Lutfi may be trying to make a federal case out of Britney Spears' travails, but it doesn't appear he's been successful just yet.
A Los Angeles Superior Court spokesperson told E! News Friday that all of the orders pertaining to Jamie Spears' conservatorship over his daughter's affairs are still being handled in the local court, contrary to reports that the case has been transferred to federal jurisdiction.
And, contrary to the efforts of Britney's dearest-if-not-so-nearest to take it there.
Sources close to the situation confirm that Lutfi, who after two weeks has yet to be served with the restraining order Britney's family obtained against him Feb. 1, is behind the filing this week of a strongly worded petition seeking to move the troubled singer's custody and conservatorship cases from L.A. court to federal court.
"Sam is at war with Jamie. This is his first strike," a Spears insider said Friday, explaining that Lutfi feels Britney's rights were violated because court-appointed attorneys did not investigate the claims her family was making about her condition.
Lutfi's new publicist, Michael Sands, who insists that the case has been transferred, filed the petition this week on behalf of New York attorney Jon Eardley, who is listed in the paperwork as Britney's counsel.
"Ms. Spears has been denied the right to associate freely with friends. She has been denied the right to make or receive telephone calls. She has been denied the right to operate a motor vehicle…She has been denied the right to receive and send mail," the petition states.
"Additionally she has been denied the right to her finances. She is not allowed to access her money or credit cards."
"Britney has expressed that she doesn't want to be under the lock and control of her family," Sands said Friday. "She wants nothing to do with her father."
And the case now "resides" in federal court, due to a technicality, he added.
"Because the court's order appointing her father conservator until Mar. 10 wasn't signed until after the notice of removal was filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court...the order extending the conservatorship...is void and invalid," Sands rationalized.
But although Sands suggests that it's time for Jamie to back off, the Superior Court spokesperson maintained that they have received no request to turn over any materials related to the Spears' case to U.S. District Court.
Meanwhile, E!'s source says Britney spoke to Eardley before the petition was filed and is planning a new attack on her dad's conservator status.
Eardley is planning to present evidence showing Jamie is not qualified to oversee her affairs, even with the help of a coconservator, and will point to examples in his personal and professional history to prove he isn't capable of making decisions for his daughter, the source said.
"She has basically conveyed that she doesn't want to be in her family's control," Sands said.
Legal experts say, however, that because Britney was previously found unfit to hire her own counsel, it's unlikely that Eardley will be allowed to represent her, thereby making the petition to transfer the case invalid.
Eardley could not be reached directly for comment but, via Sands, he said, "I will try this case in court, not in the media."
On Thursday, L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz extended Jamie Spears' conservator status until at least Mar. 10, when the next hearing is scheduled, and named Britney's brother, Bryan Spears, and his attorney cotrustees of her SBJ Trust, which is used to pay for daily expenses and medical bills.
Britney's increased efforts to push her dad out of the picture come just as she seemed to be settling into a warmer relationship with mom Lynne, whom she hadn't seen for months before her blow-up with Lutfi last month that resulted in a mass migration of paparazzi, cops and, eventually, Britney's parents to her Beverly Hills home.
But the quality time will be on hold for awhile as Lynne heads back to their hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, where 16-year-old daughter Jamie Lynn could probably use some guidance, as well.
"Lynne feels like Britney is in a much better place and on the right track," a family insider says. "She had to get home and take care of Jamie Lynn and other personal matters. She will be back soon."
